The Docks Are Out

A.J. and I went up to my Dad’s cottage in Northern Wisconsin this weekend to help take out the docks. It was mid-50s, windy, and raining off and on. We were quite a work crew. There was my Dad, my Aunt, my Uncle, a friend of my Dad, and me. The four of them ranged in age from 70 to 75. I was the lucky one that got to put on the wetsuit and do the in-water work. The water wasn’t any warmer than the air.

These docks are fairly heavy. Each section weighs over a hundred pounds. And there are six sections to remove. I have to admit, the crew worked really hard and we got the docks out in less than two hours.
