The Quiltmaker’s Gift

Last night, we went to see The Quiltmaker’s Gift at First Stage Children’s Theater. It was a wonderful show. I really like that they perform shows that have a message for the kids. They normally do shows that have been adapted from children’s books. The message in this show is a message of kindness. The music was fabulous and the set as fantastic as they always are at that theatre.

The actors all did a marvelous job. We were particularly impressed with the excellent portrayal by Michael Duncan. This is the second First Stage show that we have seen with him. Back in April, we saw Green Gables in which he played the role of Matthew Cuthbert. Our family knows Michael through the excellent set designs that he has created for shows that we have been in at Waukesha Civic Theatre. The characters that we have seen him perform in both shows were very similar. I don’t know what it is exactly that he does but you just fall in love with his character almost from the moment he comes on stage.

We wish the entire cast multiple fractures on their remaining shows. Not that they need it. It is already a great show. Go see it if you find the time. You won’t be disappointed.
